SLO Land Conservancy Creek Day, September 2007
The Land Conservancy's Creek Day 2007 was a major success!!! It beat previous records set five years ago.
This year had amazing volunteer involvement and incredible amounts of trash collected. A total of 227
volunteers from the community, other organized groups, and of course the amazing AEP Cal Poly Student Chapter
(a dozen of us volunteered), made the number of volunteers double compared to last year. A total of 4 tons
of trash were removed from the creek and about 350 pounds of it is recyclable.
CEQA Basics Workshop, November 2006
Four members of the Cal Poly AEP Chapter journeyed to Santa Barbara to attend the Fall 2006 AEP CEQA Workshop on Thursday, November 9. The workshop introduced the basics of the law, provided real-world examples, and served as a networking event. The mixer afterwards, at Restaurant Nu in downtown Santa Barbara, featured a guest speaker and some great appetizers!
SLO Botanical Garden Tour, June 2006
Members of the Cal Poly AEP Chapter joined professional members for a tour of the SLO Botanical Garden and a new straw bale building and a great fajita BBQ.
AEP End-of-the-Year BBQ, June 2006
The Cal Poly AEP Chapter met at Cuesta Park on June 3 for food and fun, and to pass the torch to the new officers.

FNR/ENVM Banquet, May 2006
Over 70 people attended the 25th annual Recognition and Celebration Banquet for the Natural Resources Managment Department on Wednesday, May 24 at the Dairy Creek Golf Course. Members of the Channel Counties AEP Board David Wolff, Sarah Spann, Mel Willis, and Jeff Oliveira were in attendance to present Amelie Charnaux and Jeremy Farr with their $500 scholarships. San Luis Obispo Mayor Romero also helped us celebrate this momentous occasion.
Cal Poly Open House, April 2006
AEP constructed and displayed a booth for this year's Open House on April 21-22. Decorating according to the theme, "Cal Poly: Choice of Champions," the booth served as yet another way to increase exposure for the club to prospective students.
Statewide AEP Conference, April 2006
Six members of our AEP student chapter attended the Statewide 2006 AEP Conference in Newport Beach on April 9-11. Interacting with professionals, attending informative workshops, job/internship offers and listening to guest speakers were just some of the perks of attending the conference.
Wolff Vineyard Tour, January 2006
On January 28th, a group of professional and student members of AEP joined the owner of Wolff Vineyards, Jean-Pierre Wolff, for a tour of his environmentally-friendly property in Edna Valley. The event was organized by the Cal Poly AEP Chapter Treasurer, Bobby Jo Close.
Riparian Enhancement, October 2005
AEP, along with Engineers Without Borders and NRM students, planted over 200 natives along Brizzolara Creek at Cal Poly on October 8th.
